I know that feeling and oddly enough with my lifestyle I choose those out of my family to trust. In our open relationship we have our circle of approved people only one or two, that we trust to be with our partner and know there is a line they won't cross. Don't do the club scene or swinger parties, not interested in that.
We have a few friends we can trust with anything. We have several friends who know quite a bit about us but who, for example, don't know about our blog. Somewhat ironically, it's the second group with which we have contact most often.
Interesting question. I trust my wife with almost anything.
If there was something I needed to discuss with someone else, it would probably be outside that circle, but close enough to me that I would feel comfortable sharing whatever I had to share.

As I look at the image I figure I am somewhere to the far right of the dot over somewhere in the wallpaper of your blog :-)
Reminds me of Meet the Fockers! :)
Trusting your instincts is always a good starting point out of your inner circle. But then again, there's no guarantee.
