Weekend Update
Had a fabulous time at a concert. Sang my lungs out for two hours with 5,000 fellow-fans and stayed out too late, ate too much, and let my friends drive home. It's good to have rich friends.
Went to a funeral. Long-time friend and neighborhood icon finally lost his battle with cancer and was laid to rest by a couple hundred of his closest friends and co-workers from the Fire Department.
High School Homecoming game was a victory and my son got the phone # of a girl from school, so it's a Win-Win weekend.
Church was nice. Sang in the choir and my voice barely handled the high parts after the Friday Night concert wiped out my voice. Ohhhhh, the price we pay for living large.
My wife went to another funeral for a friend's mom. The years of Alzheimer's finally caught up and won the race. A blessed passing that relieved our friend, and her mom, of crushing pain.
I have another funeral on Tuesday, this time my friend's wife after another battle with Cancer.
Fuck that shit. We've got to figure that one out.
Went for a 30-mile bike ride on Saturday. Early morning rides are awesome and becoming the norm as the days get shorter. I have to get ready for September as I've committed to 350 miles during the month as part of a Pediatric Cancer Fundraiser. I'd give you all the link but (1) no one reads my blog, (2) it would give away my real name, and (3) $$ is short, I get it.
