Unlock, sweep, empty trash, clean toilets, rinse, curse, repeat.

Fuck this job.

My pointless cursing and the jangle of too many keys are the only sounds.

I started on the top floor where I could see city lights and a glittering future and worked my way down through the bowels of middle management, sightlines blocked by soot-covered brick and too much neon and down further where the working grunts lived and then down deeper still where the untouchables worked and dark secrets were kept.

The bins fill with paper, scraps of food, the fetid debris of a thousand workers from a hundred worlds.  I dump each bin into the incinerator shaft and feel the heat billow up until I hurry to seal the shaft again.

Sweep, dump, burn, wretch, cough, curse, repeat.  Fuck this job. Almost done.

My scanner beeps, one more, a new room, the specimen! The rumors were true, we got one, but, why keep the enemy here? And unsecured!

I move closer to replace the missing lid but the creature wakes, screams and has me in her grasp. Her mouth opens, so many teeth, but that tongue, that body, what bliss, and I give myself over to the matings. Each seed an orgasm, each orgasm painful ecstasy. She/we will survive forever.

My son started a sci-fi section at school and I’m writing a sci-fi adjacent screenplay with a friend so I’m channeling those thoughts in to FFF this week.  I hope you ejoyed it.  I did.
